Thank you, Jan-Aage. I love your power and the words running out of you like that, all to the point. Very insperational speach. The day I understood that Jesus is on the track, when I became aware of the Bodnariu-protests, and heard that you were speaking utp, was so joyfull. I want that too. So how can we help God making that happen? Is it too much to hope for that these increasingly massiv protest can result in a kind of warcourt, bringing up all the cases where rule of law and human rights are respected? No more psychologist experts, but ordinar judicial examinations. This of course after the children have been made safe, first by real cooperation established between foster people and parants, led by a long enough stay at home, together with all familiy members, friends, pets, toys and all known. The children must have the chance to ask, complain, cry and have explanations – what I call real treatment. Then they can say what they want and what they need. They are supposed to be listened to. Until now this of course is just a formality. I work as a gestalt therapist, and also have a master degree in pedagogy. I worked as a headmaster at a school where three norwegian-afghanistan children were taken, two days after I had got the message about this from barnevernet. They never asked a question about the children, no investigation was done. In the prosess of helping the familiy I got known to a frightening system, as you know it. These children, now at the age of 7, 9 and10, have now been away for almost three years and four months. The CPS keep as much information as possible away from the parents, and the gatherings have been reduced from 6 to 2 (for the girls) and 0 (for the boy) a year. So we dont know much, but it is obviously suffer a lot. Two of them are now on psychotropic drugs. About the 10 year old, reports say she has retarded to a 3 years old stage.
It is so interesting to read what you have to say, Hege! I watched the Youtube video where you talked about your experience with the Norwegian- Afganistan family. It impacted me deeply what you said.
I was thinking about how children can cope again when they are allowed to go back home to be together again with their mamma, pappa and siblings. You have made really great thoughts on that! I ask myself what is going on in the childrens mind. What do they understand, and how do they feel. I guess it depends a lot on age and personality. It must be quite dramatic for them, I guess. I can imagine that it must be difficult for them to feel safe and to know if they can trust anybody.
As you said, it is important that they can ask, complain, cry, have explanations etc. They must be listened to without anyone putting their own words in the childrens mouths! They must be given a chance to say what they want!!! I also think it takes time and they must be given the time they need.
In addition to family members, you were mentioning friends, pets, toys and all they know. I was also thinking about this. The children have been so abruptly taken away from everything they love.
Myself, I have been teaching Sunday School for many years and I love it! I teach the 6-8 year olds. It is such a joy listening to all they have to tell:-) Children that age have a very special relationship to animals, for instance, or their teddys, or just anything.
I can remember one of my daughters always wanting to wear a colourful scarf and hat even if it was in the warmest summer…. She is 20 now, and we often laugh about it:-) I can remember myself, when I was little. I had lots of dresses which I had got from missionary ladies (I grew up as a missionary kid) which I loved to dress in . My mother didn`t realize how much the clothes meant to me and gave them away to save luggage when we moved back to Norway. I was sooo sad and upset… (I understand her now and have forgiven her:-)).
My point is, that there are things which mean so much to a kid that we often don`t see and understand. There are also things children do together with their parents which mean more that anything to them in this world! I had, and still have got a very good relationship to my daddy (pappa). My parents, and especially my dad is, like Marius, very musical. My dad used to play the piano and my mum the guitar. I sang. We still do this when I get the chance to see them. I am so proud of my dad! We are very similar. Watching the video with Eliana and her dad breaks my heart when I think about how they are separated from each other now. Oh, now I`m starting to cry again… I`ll try to write despite my tears….
Oh, this family has touched me so muchThey also remind me so much of my own family values and what we like to do. I think about how they used to sing and pray together. I can imagine that they read books, read the Bible, talked about Jesus. Oh, how sweet and precious! I can imagine them being so joyful together with their aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, family friends, friends from church, playing, laughing, having lots of fun.
Hege, I know that you know what I mean. And I can see that you have a BIG heart filled with love for all those children and families! Your high qualifications and experience as a gestalt therapist and pedagogics combined with your love and passion for children and families makes you just the right person to help children who have been traumatized!
We will continue to do what we can and to pray that the Lord will turn sorrow into joy! Bless you, Hege!
Found a video from 1992 that show a christian gathering against the homosexual movement where we among others meet Jan-Aage Torp and one of my favorite christian role models – the Swedish radical christian and singer/rockmusician Ulf Christiansson. The gay movement show up on this outdoor gathering and two views meet. Thanks to the loudspeakers the christians win the battle, but the electricity is cut for a period and the christians have to improvice.
The family as an institution has been under attack for a long time. Here – from a protest against the propasal of the “Partnerskapslov” – The partnerships act – we hear and see Jan-Aage Torp as the organizer of this event out his then church – Seierskirken – the Victory Church.
From the year – 1992 – an onwards – the first messages of divorce among christian pastors and leaders began to pop up – first in the USA – later also in Norway. Torp is among the divorced ones no longer living with the wife at that time leading the childrens choir.
I used the word “role model” on Ulf Christiansson – I can say quite the same about Torp in the sense of protection of the family as a unit.
We live in a time now i 2016 where the families that have been one family all their lives should get a medal. They get fewer and fewer. More and more parents have no marriage as a stater of their family life. They only live togheter and share each other and the kids move around as the shifts go by. Statistics show that around 20000 marriages broke up last year and many of those children we work with in the CPS have changed and become wounded – at risk – because mother and father has gone apart. https://www.ssb.no/en/befolkning/statistikker/ekteskap/aar-hovudtal/2016-02-19
We in the CPS try to help these children to cope with their new situation – so they can stop self harming themselves out of belief that it was their fault father or mother left – keep the concentration for school and future up – don’t drop into environment for criminality and hard drugs – don’t give up life.
The mothers and fathers are the real treat to the family as a system – not the CPS – and Torp is in this place a hypocrite.
What is meant by “treat” here is probably “threat”.
“The mothers and fathers are the real treat to the family as a system – not the CPS – and Torp is in this place a hypocrite.”
You have finally answered one of my questions.
So, you are against the break up of family life and you yourself are involved in the break up of the family in your job.
And how is this pastor a hypocrite? Do you know all of the details of his relationship with the wife you mention? The Bible allows for divorce in certain circumstances. Even if the pastor made a mistake, the Bible also announces forgiveness to those who repent of their sins.
According to your terms, the Bodnirau family should get a medal.
The real danger is from CPS people like you! mr knut!
I am not not a good one to give advice about computer stuff! But on one of my WordPress blogs you can SET “featured Image” for each post. Not sure if this theme has that option. But if so, when set, when people share each post on facebook, it would show the image that goes with the post rather than the keyboard everytime.
Mike, you are right. Each post you share on FB will carry along the picture that is embeded in the post (it does for me). Now, for posts that have a video it will not do that unless I embed a still image. I will have to do that from now on. For videos, my main distribution is directly from the DIT page on FB, because the video will play automatically in FB and people will not have to click on a link. That way the FB user is more likely to view the video. Blogging strategy. 🙂 Feel free to share directly from FB. For email sharing you can use the blog.
I thought the same as you, Marianne. He probably meant “threat”. I am shocked and disgusted that someone can even think in those terms that mothers and fathers are a threat to the family! Even if the children`s mothers and fathers are divorced, there shouldn`t be any problem for the children to stay with one parent and have regular contact with the other parent depending on the situation. It is absolutely ridiculous to think that a child would do better to have a new set of parents in such a situation!
I still cannot tell if Knut meant exactly that, and if barnevernet thinks that way. But the thought is just…. I don`t have words for it….
Or maybe he was trying to defend the “evil” done by parents and comparing it to the hero job of barnevernet, as though stealing their kids is not anything bad in comparison to what mothers and fathers do….I am shaking my head…..
Enough is perhaps also enough for the European Court of Human Rights, at long last – the court seems to have become less trusting of the member states when the states explain away what they do to children and families.
Here is a Norwegian case of forced adoption which has now been accepted by the ECtHR (hopefully, google translation will give some idea of the content, or else some capable Scandinavians can help with a proper translation?)
“Tvangsadopsjonen som kan endre norsk barnevern for alltid: – Barna mine spør om når de skal få treffe storebror. Det kan jeg ikke svare på”
Nå må Norge svare for seg i Den europeiske menneskerettighetsdomstolen.
(The forced adoption that can change Norwegian Barnevern for ever: – My children ask when they can meet their big brother. I cannot answer them.
Now Norway has to answer to the European Court of Human Rights.)
Dagbladet, 12 March 2016 http://www.dagbladet.no/2016/03/12/nyheter/innenriks/barnevern/43463888/
Thank you Marianne. This might be a real breakthrough, dont you think? I mean this is Norwegian newspaper writing it, not some crazy foreigners making up stories. 🙂 I have high hopes then things will start to change now..
Thank you for sharing the article from today in Dagbladet, Marianne! I am so glad the truth finally gets through in Norwegian media! This was a very good article! I hope many Norwegians will read it!
To Pavla and Hildi: Yes, I agree, this is positive. Let us just hope that the Norwegian state does not WIN in Strasbourg! There have been cases like that, like one KT against Norway; he complained that the CPS had kept coming into his home unannounced at all sorts of hours and an inordinate number of times, to check on whether he drank alchohol, I seem to remember. The case was admitted to court trial in Strasbourg, but the state won: The court could not see that the CPS had anything but “the child’s best interest” at heart.
But I also agree with you that this quite realistic presentation of the case and the criticism of Norwegian Barnevern is positive. It is certainly in part due to the demonstrations and criticism abroad. So auntie Marianne’s opinion that we need help from abroad in order to wake up self-satisfied Norway may be right? (I get self-satisfied thinking about it.)
But never doubt that all our authorities on every level, together with all those who benefit from the system, especially financially, will fight back like anything. They will only give in if they are forced to, not because they understand that they are on the wrong tack ethically.
I wrote of the “presentation” – like you, I was thinking of the mainstream press’s presentation. There “the Glass Girl” case reported in Stavanger Aftenblad may have made some other newspapers also take to their senses. They are no end influenced by each other, hardly ever by what the general public can tell them, however well documented.
I look forward to America waking up on Saturday morning (their time) to this.
And the family’s names are known:
Trude Lobben, Leif Lobben and Sissel Graff Lobben:
As Agrippa says here – There is absolutely no reason why they should be ashamed of anything, least of all their name: http://forum.r-b-v.net/viewtopic.php?p=36962#p36962
The case is known as Strand, Lobbet & al vs. Norway
Regarding the Lobben family, who need not hide at all, quite the contrary, all honour to them!, here is what a father, “familien-er-samlet” (the family is together), has written in another thread on the RVB forum (my translation):
“We fled Norway quite legally [before any case before the county committee]. I am not at all ashamed of what we have done. On the contrary, the municipality should be ashamed. What they have done to our family is in my opinion both immoral, illegal and reprehensible. As recently as yesterday I sent a polite greeting to the mayor in our home municipality, so that he does not forget us. I have previously reminded him that he has a responsibility for the quality of the services, and that we have gone into exile because the services in the municipality he leads are not up to standard.
Are we to be called by ugly names, be accused of criminal actions, be objects of suspicion, be ignored, be treated as contemptible, be forced to dissolve our marriage, be threatened that the children will be taken, be harassed, and then in the end flee abroad WITH BOWED HEADS?
Are we to apologise for doing everything so that the children will not be hurt by the crazy “assistance” offered by Norwegian society, which not infrequently ends in tragedy for the children?” http://forum.r-b-v.net/viewtopic.php?p=36961#p36961
Now that these stories are being exposed and shared worldwide hopefully the correct course of action will be taken, a complete overhaul of Norway’s CPS system.
Marianne, so if they win at the European court of human rights, does it mean that the child will be returned?. I have heard of stories, that families have won, but still the children were not returned. What I was also surprised is, that in Norway, if a court decides that the removal of the child was wrong, it still does not mean that the child will be returned. There must be apparently a new court, where the current situation of the family is questioned and after that if the court decides in the favor of the family, only then the child has to be returned? So if the Bodnariu family will win next week, that the emergency decision was wrong, it still does not mean that the children will be immediately returned?
Yes the glassgirl had obviously a huge impact, but also in the last few days there were few articles about the autistic handicapped 15 year old boy, that was removed from the foster mother. I think I saw few of the articles on this subject. Normally I am in favor of biological family, but I have compassion with this foster mother. We dont know the circumstances why that boy was placed in her care and she seemed to provide great care for the boy.
About the Strasbourg case: Maybe we could take a discussion as comments to the new posting here on DiT, “Norway has to answer …” ?
About the handicapped boy: Yes, the foster mother sounds all right. The only thing one would question, is that a biological parent would be unlikely to let the boy be sent away because she didn’t get the sort of deal she wanted with the social services.
I think a possible motive for the CPS disliking this foster mother may be that the biological mother apparently has a good relationship to her and wanted the boy to stay on with this foster mother!
Another former foster mother has come out with HER story, which is that the same office had tried to remove a seriously handicapped foster daughter from her and her husband with similar methods. In that case the foster daughter’s father wanted the girl to stay on with those foster parents. The father was also the legal guardian of his daughter, and the CPS tried to get rid of him for that reason.
Yes, parents cause “awful difficulties” for the social workers. http://forum.r-b-v.net/viewtopic.php?p=36956#p36956

We will continue to do what we can and to pray that the Lord will turn sorrow into joy! Bless you, Hege!
Thank you, Mr. Jon-Aage Torp. More protests are coming up in which the abusive Barnevernet’ actions will be exposed.
Knut, I don’t understand the reason you have put this here. Please inform me.
Probably because pastor Torp is a featured speaker
God bless you Pastor Jon Aage Torp! It is so good to see people like you in these days

The case can perhaps be found here as a pending case:

Thank you Marianne. This might be a real breakthrough, dont you think? I mean this is Norwegian newspaper writing it, not some crazy foreigners making up stories. 🙂 I have high hopes then things will start to change now..
Looks like we have a nice build up going toward April 16th!
This American is awake and thanks you for the information, Marianne.
It appears to be a ray of hope….finally.
Here is the mother’s own account, apparently, in March 2014:
http://thirdseconds.org/barnevernet-har-kidnappet-barnet-mitt/
And the family’s names are known:
Trude Lobben, Leif Lobben and Sissel Graff Lobben:
As Agrippa says here – There is absolutely no reason why they should be ashamed of anything, least of all their name:
http://forum.r-b-v.net/viewtopic.php?p=36962#p36962
The case is known as Strand, Lobbet & al vs. Norway
Sorry, “Strand, Lobben & al”.
Are we to apologise for doing everything so that the children will not be hurt by the crazy “assistance” offered by Norwegian society, which not infrequently ends in tragedy for the children?”

Thanks again for the info., Marianne.
