Ten Bible Verses Against Sexual Immorality

Deuteronomy 23:17-18 “None of the daughters of Israel shall be a cult prostitute, and none of the sons of Israel shall be a cult prostitute.

2 Kings 23:7 And he broke down the houses of the male cult prostitutes who were in the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the Asherah (Josiah’s reforms)

1 Corinthians 10:8 We must not indulge in sexual immorality as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in a single day.

Jude 1:7 Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire

Isaiah 3:9 For the look on their faces bears witness against them; they proclaim their sin like Sodom; they do not hide it

Romans 1:24-27 …God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Ephesians 5:3 But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints.

Matthew 5:32 But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery

Mark 9:42 “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea”

Exodus 20:14 You shall not commit adultery

  1. Thx for these verses Delight! They will for sure come in handy as a good defense to what is the solid biblical truth we stand for.

  2. You know it, Shawny knows it, I know it — unfortunately it appears that neither the occupant of the Oval Office nor the United States of America’ judicial system know it.!!!.

    • They are suppressing the truth, Ali… The prez is a universalist, a moral relativist, progressivist… all positions against the Word of God.

Even though I am not a big Driscoll fan, I was glad to see Driscoll call him out in a famous tweet during the inauguration:

“Praying for our president, who today will place his hands on a Bible he does not believe to take an oath to a God he likely does not know.”

      • Romans 1:18

[ Unbelief and Its Consequences ]

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness…”

I agree with you, ali and Delight. Mr. Obama, who calls himself a Christian, is anything but a follower of Christ. He is the worst president we have ever had. He is all of the things that Delight has mentioned, and he appears to be turning his back on assisting the nation of Israel.

It is hard to listen to the man.

I feel the same as Delight does about Mr. Driscoll. It is very difficult to pin him down, but he hangs around some very slimy creatures who are into contemplative prayer and eastern mysticism. At times he appears to have it right and then he’ll come out of left field with something “contemporary.”

Those he hangs with include leaders of emergent/emerging churches. I’ve listened to some of these guys (Rob Bell, Tony Jones, Brian McLaren, Doug Pagitt, etc.). Much of what they say is postmodern, neo-liberal mumbo-jumbo. The reason I used the term “slimy” above is because you can’t really get a good definition of “emergent” or “emerging” or “postmodern.” The terms mean different things to different people.

I would put Mr. Driscoll on the conservative side of the spectrum, but I don’t trust him mainly because of the company he keeps.

Thanks for the list, Delight. It may come in handy in my line of ministry.

        God’s blessings…

  3. Nice list, may I add two more? 1 Corinthians 5:1; and 1 Thessalonians 4:3.

Ya know Delight Jamie Foxx says the prez is the “Messiah.” Don’t you just love the wisdom of Hollowwood and its residents.

    • It’s sad and funny at the same time… they love to invoke ‘god’ in their speeches, but just go ahead and call upon the name of Jesus as the way the truth and the life, see how they blow up…

They cannot bear the name of Jesus as the exclusive way to salvation…
